Manager, Project Management Office

The PMO Manager is responsible for a team of project managers accountable for successfully planning, controlling and managing project deliverables to ensure projects executed within the Motion Business' Independent Cart Technology portfolio are met. This position is responsible for direct staff located in both Devens, MA and East Setauket, NY.
Supervises all aspects of project management functions for product development projects, including hardware, software, firmware (embedded software), test, industrialization and commercial disciplines.
Assists team of project managers to achieve project expectations including milestone dates, budget forecasts, resource scheduling, and vendor/partner contracts.
Reviews and approves all project estimates.
May apply complex and advanced project management and scheduling techniques during review of projects to help PMs identify issues before they impact project expectations.
Responsible for the team's compliance with PMO standards & methodologies and development processes.
May need to serve as a project manager on one or multiple projects to resolve gaps in direct staff during peak demand by the business.
Typically supervises 4-6 project management professionals and project analysts
Responsible for coaching and development of direct reports to continually grow the project management maturity level. Conducts periodic staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with direct reports.
Coordinates activities with support teams, business owners and other stakeholders.
Supports the need for change by promoting programs, strategies and initiatives set by the PMO and Business unit.
Participate in process improvement activities within the Motion PMO as requested
On-boards new hires assigned to team.
Assists manager with resource planning: assignments for team members.
Assists project managers with resource planning, budgeting and scheduling to ensure projects meet business objectives and plans. Hold staff accountable for results.
Works with direct reports to address training needs and functional gaps within the team.
Creates an environment conducive to successful team interaction.
Responsible for reviewing the plan, budget, structure, schedule and staffing for projects that are being managed by the team.
Responsible for department budgets and schedules including performance of direct staff.
Networks and partners with both internal and external customers/vendors/partners and coordinates efforts to resolve complex problems, responds and delivers timely and cost-effective quality solutions.
Participates in development of business and marketing strategies to optimize the performance of new and existing products. Applies advanced product knowledge for effective project completion.
Understands and applies business metrics to assigned product developments and projects, tracking performance relative to business goals.
Provides updates to project stake holders to manage expectations and information access.
Ensure team member goals align with project objectives, facilitate team decisions within guidelines, and effectively communicate business issues/directions to team and management. Plan, schedule and organize product development projects, using the input and skills of team members.
Provides performance feedback assessment and coaching to staff. Holds staff accountable for deliverables.
Reviews progress with the Business/Functional Manager or Program Manager and periodically with senior management.
Develops an effective working relationship within BU and across RA on a global basis.
Promotes a culture of inclusion and engagement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
