Associate Downstream Scientist

ASSOCIATE DOWNSTREAM SCIENTIST
DEVENS, MA

Project Description:
The Associate Scientist within Downstream Process Development will be working in a science-driven environment, and will collaborate with a group of scientists/associate scientists to develop robust and scalable downstream processes for both early and late stage biologics in Client's robust pipeline. The candidate will work closely with the downstream team, upstream team, analytical team, and collaborate with the MST organization and manufacturing sites within the Client network or Third Party Manufacturing to deliver robust, scalable and economical processes for clinical and commercial supply.
The successful candidate has the following responsibilities:

  • Perform downstream process development activities in PD Downstream

  • Downstream process development, process scale-up, process characterization, and tech transfer.

  • Prepare/review technical documents including development report, tech transfer reports, batch records, and SOPs.

  • Participate on cross-functional teams to progress both early and late stage drug candidates.

  • Perform the necessary experiments for evaluation and implementation of innovative new technologies.

  • Present study results and project progress in internal meetings.


Required Skills:

  • M.S. in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or equivalent, or B.S. with industry experience.

  • Prior experience in protein refolding from inclusion body and protein PEGylation is strongly desired.

  • Prior experience in downstream process development and unit operations, including preparative chromatography, ultrafiltration / diafiltration, and depth filtration is desired.

  • Prior experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC or CE or others relating to glycoprotein attributes is desired.

  • Knowledge of upstream processing especially in microbial fermentation is desired.

  • Knowledge of statistical experimental design and data analysis is desired.

  • Knowledge of cGMPs is desired.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Position Handles Hazardous Materials.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
